The interlocking blocks stack easily and steel reinforcing bar is laid into preformed webs as each wall course is completed. The walls are braced and filled with concrete, and once the concrete has hardened, the braces are removed. You’re done. Unlike CMU (concrete block) or other poured wall systems, however, ICF walls require no additional insulation or even framing! The expanded polystyrene (EPS) stay-in-place form provides phenomenal insulation, and contains furring strips imbedded in the EPS so you can attach sheetrock or exterior siding directly to the ICF wall. No other wall system offers so many positive returns for a single effort.
